About Us

Jan Weiher VMD opened the clinic in November of 1999.   It is named after her Chesapeake Bay Retriever “Cedar”.    She and her husband, who is a veterinarian at Disney's Animal Kingdom, live in Clermont with their three dogs, two horses, and two goats.   Her favorite activities include maintaining a small orchid collection, as well as training and showing her dogs in agility, conformation, field, and tracking.

Dr. Jan graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1992.  She decided to open the clinic in order to provide the more personalized service that a small practice can offer.   She takes a conservative approach to medicine, and promotes natural diets and supplements to aid in overall health.   She has had intensive training in animal acupuncture through the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society.  More recently, she has had training in Veterinary Orthopedic Manipulation (VOM) which is similar to chiropractic.   Dr. Jan believes that combining conventional with alternative therapies offers the best chance for successful treatment.

Donna Chocianowski is the clinic manager.  Donna and her family have lived in the Central Florida area since 1980.  She has several pets including six Flat Coated Retrievers which she shows in conformation.  She also has an interest in retriever field training.  Before working with Dr. Jan, Donna taught obedience and puppy classes for several years at Three J Dog Training School in Winter Garden.

Tracie Johnson is a receptionist.  She lives in Windermere with her husband and two Doberman Pinschers.  She enjoys competing with them in conformation shows and training in agility.

Angela Sardelli is a technician. She recently graduated from veterinary technician school in St. Petersburg Florida. Alternative therapy is her passion as she plans to go further with her education in physical therapy and canine massage.  She is certified in Reiki. She has one Chihuahua who seems to like it that way, but hopefully not for long. She enjoys scuba diving, camping, as well as any other outdoor activity.
